L. van der Sluis - Transients in Power Systems Transients in Power Systems by Lou van der Sluis ISBN: 978-0-471-48639-8 August 2001 WILEY 224 Pages ![]() Covering the fundamentals of electrical transients, this book will equip readers with the skills to recognise and solve transient problems in power networks and components. Starting with the basics of transient electrical circuit theory, and moving on to discuss the effects of power transience in all types of power equipment, van der Sluis provides new insight into this important field. Recent advances in measurement techniques, computer modelling and switchgear development are given comprehensive coverage for the first time. An electromagnetic transients calculation program is included and will prove valuable to both students and engineers in the field. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lou van der Sluis is a member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. He teaches power systems analysis to undergraduate students, and also tutors practitioners working in the power systems industry. He has authored the book, Transients in Power Systems, which was published by Wiley in 2001, and won the Prize Paper Award from the Power Engineering Education Committee of the IEEE Power Engineering Society. He is a senior member of IEEE and convener of CC-03 of Cigre. His research interests include analyzing the transient recovery voltages in medium and high voltage networks. TABLE OF CONTENTS Preface.
