The Hinkley Point C site is progressing at pace, with teams busy working towards the next major engineering feat – the lifting of the 245-tonne steel dome on top of the first reactor building. The tour, featuring Nuclear Island Area Director Simon Parsons, shows final preparations being made to the dome, which will make Unit 1 weather proof. This will unlock the next phase of construction, allowing mechanical and electrical work to ramp up.
