It is one of the biggest challenges in the #energytransition: system integration. How do you create balance between the flexible energy demand and fluctuating electricity production of #offshorewind? RWE is going to build ‘OranjeWind’, a new generation offshore wind farm at the site of Hollandse Kust West VII on the Dutch North Sea. This wind farm will use a combination of smart innovations and investments such as offshore floating solar, a subsea lithium-ion battery, LiDAR power forecasting system and a subsea hydro storage power plant off-site.
