Balancing how much energy Ontario has (supply) with how much it needs (demand) is one of the IESO’s core responsibilities. From our control room, we monitor supply and demand in real-time – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – ensuring generators do not over or under produce at any given time and that Ontario’s communities have the energy they need when they need it.
