Nov 4, 2025 - China builds world`s largest renewable energy system

As China transitions into its 15th Five Year Plan for national economic and social development, the country is taking stock of its achievements made over the previous five years in clean energy.
In 2020, China pledged to peak CO2 emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.
Since then, the country has developed and completed projects to achieve those goals, including six large hydropower stations constructed along the Yangtze River`s main streams.
And in the vast regions of western China, seven massive clean energy projects.
Moving that energy to the country`s heavily populated east coast required the construction of ultra-high voltage power lines.
And China`s energy storage facilities are leveraging technologies like gravity energy storage and compressed air energy storage.
The 15th Five Year Plan will see the country continue its commitment to renewable energies, while balancing environmental protection and economic modernization.
