Sky News explores the impact of Chinese renewables as Sky`s Helen-Ann Smith travels a bumpy five hours to the remote hills of Laos. The biggest of its kind in south-east Asia, the Monsoon Wind Power Project, towers above the rural district of Dak Cheung - which is one of the poorest corners of Laos. The project is owned by a Thai-led consortium, but was built by a Chinese contractor. The deputy project director Jeremy Warman says it has enough power for close to "a million households". |
